Happy Friday!

With an early start to the day, Ryder and I are making the most of one of our last few Friday's of one-on-one time together.  I'm excited for baby to arrive, but have really loved this special time with Ryder.

Special Visitors

Last week, my mom and Mikayla were visiting from Indiana.  It was so great to see them and we enjoyed all the time we were able to spend with them.  Next time I need to work on getting pics of Ryman with Grandma Dee!!

I'm amazed at how she was able to read to both kids and put them to bed (in the same room even!) silently without any help!  Mikayla - you must share your secret!!

1 More Month!

Just a quick post to say that I'm so excited to meet our little boy ONE MONTH from today!  He's scheduled to arrive on April 27th at about 12:30pm :)  Eeek!!

Nesting

I hit the nesting mode earlier in my pregnancy...and it's made a re-appearance.  Here are two of my fun crafts for baby from this weekend:

Record Breaking Spring

It's a good thing that two weekends ago we got out to use our snowshoes...

...Because ever since then, we've jumped right into summer!  We are absolutely loving all this outdoor playtime:

We have been playing baseball...

...playing golf...

...playing with family (cousin Autumn & Auntie Mikayla in Hastings)...

...grilling out (in Nick & Laura's backyard)...

...visiting parks (Shoreview above, Fort Snelling and Elm Creek below)...

...and playing in the water table! 

This weather is making me super excited for baby to arrive and to spend summertime with my boys :)

Back Outside!

I can't believe what a beautiful day we had today...and that I was off work to spend it with Ryder.  So amazing.  And later, when Shawn flew back from his work trip, we continued to enjoy the summer-like temps.  I'll share more photos later, but at the moment, I just had to post this one.

I have been so excited to get outside - both to be active and because I love following Ry around with my camera, capturing him as he explores the world.  So he's used to having his picture taken in the summer.

I pulled it out for some outdoor playtime shots today and he immediately started posing and smiling! LOL! I didn't ask him to do this!  But of course, I jumped on the opportunity.  This is my fav:

32 Weeks

7 weeks till this LITTLE man becomes a BIG brother!

Nursery Update

We're still not done yet, but we've made so much progress on the nursery that I thought I'd share an update.

I recovered the mobile and we hung the framed fabric prints (we'll add 8x10 photos of the little one once he's born - then the fabric will act as a mat)...

...we bought and hung the curtains...

...I made the crib skirt...

...we painted and mounted the shelf / hooks, made 2 changing table covers (the other one is in the coordinating nursery fabric), added brown bins with coordinating tags...

...we had installed the closet system a while ago and now added bins with matching tags...

...and dad installed a dimmer switch.  It feels good to have so much progress and 7 weeks to finish the last few things.  I finally feel like we're close to being ready for baby - whenever he's ready to arrive :)

I completed one other project this weekend that was on my list. 

I love how it turned out and can't wait for baby B to model it: 

Golf is Like Magic

After many weekends without naps, I think we found the trick...at least for now - turning golf on tv.  It's a sport, so he's entertained by watching it, but the soothing voices, quiet clapping and slow pace seem to put him right to sleep!  (Grandpa Bob - maybe he gets this from you?!?)

I cherish every nap because I need time to rest, too!

Breakfast Buddy

I'm going to miss this cute little face today...it'll be my first Friday at work since October.  Hopefully next week I'll have my workload under control again.  I only have seven more Fridays of one-on-one time with Ryder, so these days are pretty important to me.

Nursery Update

We made some huge progress on the nursery last weekend!  The room has been cleaned out, painted, outlets repaced with white fixtures and most of the furniture is moved in!!  I owe a huge thank you to Shawn for being patient with my tedious striped design...he did a great job :)  The idea is that this will be a room that will grow with baby #2 versus having to be repainted once he's older.

We have three blue walls with brown stripes and one brown wall with blue stripes.  I'll save pictures of the rest of the room for when we have the walls decorated (frames, shelves, stencils, etc).  It's so exciting to see this room starting to come together!

It's even more exciting to be able to say we'll meet our little one NEXT MONTH!  Woohoo! :)
