Learning to Skate

When the [big] boys wrote their Christmas lists this year, they came up with the idea for ice skates all on their own. It was a little surprising since we haven’t really taken them to skate - except Ryder (once when he was 3 and once when he was 4). Based on Ryder’s early experiences, I did not expect skating to go well the first couple times. 

But to my surprise, they both took off right away! 

And they loved it! 

Ryder and I skated for an hour and a half Saturday (my math put that at about 6-7 miles!) and Ryder and Logan both skated for another hour and a half today.

So excited they’ll be able to join the kids on the neighborhood pond this winter.

This was also my first skate in quite some time. Maybe third ever. And I agree with the boys - it was so much fun :)
