Logan is THREE!!

I am hoping to do a little 3 year photoshoot with Logan this weekend while we're in Minneapolis, but in the meantime, I wanted to at least post our little interview from last night before I forget his answers!

As he was all tucked in bed, I asked him these questions:

What is your favorite color: 'Blue'
What is your favorite thing to eat: 'Beans!' (brown beans)
What is your favorite number: '100'
What is your favorite thing to do: 'Wake up [and go] in mom and dad's room'
What do you want to do for work when you grow up: 'Draw buildings. Take pictures. Build buildings.'
What is your favorite book: 'The dinosaur one' (Not sure which one he's talking about...)
Who is your best friend: 'Ryder. He takes care of me' (Awe!)

We had a little family party for Logan yesterday. Very low-key since we just returned from vacation. But it was in the theme he requested - Paw Patrol - and we had a beautiful sunny day to have the patio door open and spend some time playing outside.

To celebrate his actual birthday today, we went swimming at the community center.

As soon as I told him we could go, he ran upstairs, found his swim diaper & suit, undressed and got dressed in all his swim gear! I don't even know where that stuff was! He was so excited and loved every second of the pool.

Greece Day 8 | Santorini to Athens

Greece Day 7 | Santorini

Today we slept in and had a nice breakfast on our patio (overlooks the water) before heading out for another adventure. 

After so many days of around 10 miles of walking, I was craving some time chill under a beach umbrella. Shawn had also heard about this hike from Kamari Beach to Perissa Beach that was supposed to be nice. So we took the local bus from Oia to Fira to Kamari.

And then we saw the direction of the hike to Parissa Beach. We had heard it was a nice 40 mintue hike...but I guess that started when you got to the top of the huge mountain!

Once we made it to Perissa, I found what I was looking for :) We parked ourselves at a restaurant on the beach called Tranquilo and spent a couple hours just relaxing :) They also had beach umbrellas / chairs, so we relaxed there a bit, too. 

Ahhh...relaxation...

This beach and Kamari Beach are the only ones that were actually sand beaches. And they were both black sand beaches (due to the volcano). The others we have seen have all been small rocks (like the North Shore of MN). 

This is our last night at Maria's Place hotel and our last night in Santorini! It's going to be hard to leave Oia in the morning. It has been such a great visit and so beautiful!

Greece Day 6 | Santorini

After breakfast in our room this morning, Santorini Sea Kayak picked us up at our hotel just before 10am. They brought us to the south tip of the island for a tour of the southwest coast. 

What an incredible experience! They were able to tell us all about the history / formation of the island and show us a ton of cool sections of the coast. Some of the cliffs were black, some red, and some white - all from volcanic eruptions.

Some of the rocks beneath the water were black, making the water look dark like a clear lake, and some of the rocks were white, showing the teal color of water! 

We also went in a handful of caves. You could see all the way to the bottom just about everywhere...I think he said up to 60 feet!

We also stopped at Kambia Beach for some snacks and chill time.

I absolutely love being on the water, so I think I had a permanent smile on my face for the entire 4 hour tour!

We made it back to our room just before dinner. At dinner, we had another amazing view of the caldera. And Shawn had another crazy seafood dish ;) I had a hard time looking at it across the table...

We also caught our first Santorini sunset tonight. Everyone wanders to the end of Oia (even coming from other towns) to watch the sun sink into the water each night :)

Greece Day 5 | Santorini

Last night we slept perfectly! I think we have finally adjusted to the time change. We woke up about nine and got ready for our hike from Oia to Fira. This is rated the number one thing to do in Santorini and is a 6 1/2 mile hike along the caldera. It.was.amazing. 

Already in awe as we take our first look back at Oia. The little rock island is the one we hiked down to yesterday.

There are a number of stray dogs and cats in Santorini (and Athens). This guy followed us for quite a while!

With all the elevation changes, it was a 3 hour hike. But every second of it was so beautiful!

Once we arrived in Fira, we stopped for gyros at Lucky's - best gyros of the trip for only $2.50! 

Our next stop was taking the public bus to Santo Wines for a wine tasting! Wine tasting with an incredible view!

We took the bus back to Oia for dinner at Skiza, overlooking the caldera at sunset :)

A super yummy pasta dinner to get our bodies ready for 5 hours of kayaking tomorrow!

Finally, a good beer!!
