Happy Easter - 2014

What an amazing day!! It was 70 deg (or more?!) and we spent almost all of it outside!! Here are a few pics from our day:
Logan's basket was hidden in the ball pit (beyond).
Ryder's was on the windowsill behind the couch :)
We decorated eggs on Easter morning...and ended up using crayons and stickers and skipped the ideal plan of dying them...and ate them immediately due to the abuse the eggs took  ;) Good news is, Logi actually ate one! (We love our breakfast burritos in this house and he has yet to jump on board with them.)
We spent the afternoon outside at grandma D & grandpa Craig's, enjoying the sunshine (and burning some energy)!!
The little kids (and big kids) had an egg hunt in the yard :)

Thanks for all the great food and sweet treats mom & Craig!!

Happy Easter!!

Parenthood: Everyday Entertainment

I'm so thankful that Logan has started following directions and following rules. This means we can actually take our eyes off him for short periods of time without worrying [as much] that we'll come back to find him on a countertop or getting into trouble.

If I step away, I usually call his name and ask if he's ok (he responds appropriately) or peek into the room from time to time to make sure he's ok. Today was one of those times. I got him ready for nap, gave him a quick snack and went upstairs to put some things away. I called his name to check on him. No response. So I peeked in the kitchen...and saw this:

For a very brief moment, I was worried he had choked on his snack, but he was kind of smiling, sucking on his cereal bar (still in hand) and was just drifting off to sleep :)

This kid loves to run around, but when it comes time for nap, there's no denying...or postponing...it!

(Oh, and if I haven't shared this already, this funny outfit is what keeps him from climbing out of his crib. It's one of his baby sleep sacks that I added material to so it's longer and he wears it backwards so he can't undo the zipper or snap :) The sleeves help keep him from climbing out the neck hole!)

Future Twin

Ryder, you continue to impress me with your athleticism. I saw footage of you at the batting cages from last month when you went with Mikayla and Grandpa Craig. Today, I saw it for myself. You hit four rounds at the North St Paul batting cage...my arms were tired after two rounds!! You begged (sweetly) for more. Can't wait to go again!!

So excited for your first season of t-ball this summer...now we just have to teach you to hit off a tee!!

P.S. You have a killer spiral when throwing the football, too! Fast, accurate and a spiral just about every time!
P.P.S. MissKayla has a killer ball swing as well!!

No More Nuk?

I don't want to jinx it, but...we are two nights nuk-free!!! Eek!! Is this the end of this adorable baby face?!?

Fun With Friends

A few pictures of recent fun with friends:
Friday play date with the Pederson kids - on a beautiful March day!!

Frozen movie night with Autumn & Leyla at Grandma D's!

Frozen birthday party!

Silly brother fun (they're friends, too)

Magnet play with nuks :)

We're so lucky to have such great friends and family!!

Riding a Two-Wheeler!!

Last Sunday, the forecast said it was going to aget to 60 degrees!! We thought that would be the perfect time to teach Ryder how to ride a bike!

We didn't have much for expectations - other than to plan for it to take a while. But he surprised us and took off right away without instruction! Riding the Scuut for a couple years must have taught him balance / speed.

Shawn taught him how to turn and stop, so he did circles around the parking lot in our neighborhood. Once his feet can touch the ground, it'll be a lot easier :)

So proud of you, Ryder!! Going to be a fun summer!!
