Camping Practice

With our first camping "trip" of the season coming up, Ryder and I decided to practice a bit tonight :) We set up the little tent (in the background of the photos), built a fire of bricks and 'roasted' marshmallows! Logan was sleeping during the 'campfire', but he loooved playing in the tent before bed.

Oh, and if you're wondering about the carseat next to Ryder...he said its his baby sister named Erin! Ha! He did this all on his own...brought it in from the living room to the playroom, buckled her up and put her right next to him! Silly kid!

And you can see as we were 'roasting', the little stinker stole my mallow off my stick in one sneaky bite!

Blur

I love chasing the kids around, but sometimes it's interesting just to sit back and watch their energy!

Life at Our House

Ryder - heres a photo for your future wife...if you don't do housework someday, it won't be because of me! You were happy to help steam-clean all our hardwood floors yesterday :). Then Logi helped bring them back to normal as he practiced feeding himself at lunchtime...

How Do You...

How do you clean 200 balls from a ball pit??

In a bath tub, of course!! :)

Man, kids are so much fun!!

Things Kids Say

Logan was climbing on Ryder's bed just now as I was vacuuming. I thought the bed was a good spot for them so I had access to the whole floor. Until...Logan fell off (its a toddler bed, but still produced tears). I stopped the vacuum so I could cuddle Logi and Ry said, "No, no, mom. I'm a big brother, I got 'em!". Ry gave him a hug, kiss, and a toy and asked him if he was okay :)

Also, yesterday, Shawn left the iPad on the table with the car website up (finally buying a second car!). Ry started swiping through all the photos, saying, "Sweet car, Dad!". The last image was of the engine. "Wow, this engine is cool!". Ha! He is all boy through and through!!

Minne-Vacation

Last weekend we did a little Minneapolis "vacation" and stayed overnight at a hotel on Nicollet Mall. I only have About 2 minutes until Logan needs a new activity, so here's my quick run-down:

Early check-in, free hotel upgrade, went to Prancna and sat outside for lunch (St Antony Main), Ryder and Shawn swam while Logan napped (and I read a book!), walked to the Twins game, bounced Logan in the Ergo for all 5? innings watched, Ry had ice cream in a ball helmet (big hit!) put kids to bed, watched fireworks out the hotel window (top floor), Laura & Nick came over to our suite for drinks, few hours of sleep, chased Logan up and down Nicollet at 5:30am, breakfast date at Caribou with Logan at 6am, breakfast with the rest of the family at 9am (amazing!), nap for mom and Logan (Loring Park for dad and Ry), Minneapolis public library, IDS Center and Britts Pub on the roof for lunch!

One memory I'd like for our family journal: Ry went with me to help me with Logan's diaper in the lobby restroom. A lady In the room saw Ryder's Twins tee and asked who his favorite ball player was: Joe Mauer. Then she asked what number he was. He thought hard, but replied a confident "7". Thanks Auntie Christy, as I'm sure this knowledge came from you (and the tee you bought him!)

Perfect family stay-cation :)

Few more photos to come, but here's a bunch:
