It's 9am and our littlest love is still sleeping...even with the other kids making noise for the last three hours...definitely our best sleeper.

Maternity Leave
Today is the last day of my maternity leave...since Brecken is still sleeping, I thought I'd try to recap what I have been up to the past 14 weeks!!
I have posted about playdates, snuggles, cute sleeping babies and fun things with the kids. Here are a few other things I've been able to do:
Paint the front door. I have been wanting to do this for years.
We finally decided what to do with the huge white wall in our livingroom! I drew it up on paper, laid it out with tape, painted it, and Shawn hung up our pictures. Finally getting things on the walls after 2.5 years of living here. I was a little nervous that the pattern was a bit crazy, but I love how it turned out.
Brecken's room received some final touches.
We made stocking hangers (another thing that has been on my to-do list year after year).
All our Christmas gifts are wrapped and shopping is done! I have no idea how I ever tackled Christmas while working...thankfully, next year the boys will all be bigger, hopefully making it easier to work and do Christmas.
We've made a ton of progress on the basement!! (Ok - I didn't have much to do with this part). Drywall is up and ready for paint!
I've started a little area near the door to the garage to help keep track of the kids' activities / homework.
I've been able to keep the house clean and try a bunch of new recipes.
And...the biggest...I think we have Logan potty-trained....Time will tell, but we're on a good streak :)
I've completely enjoyed and savored this time. Thankfully, I work with a great group of people which will make the transition back to the office a little easier :)
Brecken | 3 Months
Brecken, you are 3 months already! It never ceases to amaze me how fast the first year goes with little ones...Here's a little about you at this age:
- You are SO happy!! Whenever we look at you or talk to you, you smile. Sometimes you even stop crying (like when you're hungry or tired) to smile at us, then go back to reminding us you need to eat / sleep.
- You smile with your whole body and I just love it! It starts with a smirk, the smirk turnes into a huge open mouth silent giggle, your eyes squint and your body wiggles! Seriously the best!!
- You are awake much more the past week or two. We are currently trying for one shorter morning nap and one long afternoon nap, but you tend to take a nap after dinner as well. (At the moment, you've clocked 1.5 hours and counting on your morning nap).
- You have been chewing on your hands / fists.
- You try to bring toys to your mouth, but end up chomping on your pjs by your mouth while touching toys with your hands...I bet you think you've mastered it ;)
- You try so hard to pull the rings on your bouncer. Your arms are wavering near them and your eyes tell me you are focused and trying so hard!! Soon Brecky, soon.
- Your brothers still totally love you.
- Daddy is doing great with three boys :) I love to watch him snuggle with you and make you giggle.
- I'm guessing you drink about 4oz a feeding (still nursing)
- You have been getting up to eat once a night (eat at 9pm, wake at 3 or 4 or 5, then go back to bed till 7:30am). You fall right back asleep, but I have to hold you upright for 30 minutes afterwards so you don't have uncomfortable reflux issues :/
- You are quickly losing the hair on the top of your head!! (Just like Ryder did)
- To me, your eyes look like they're going to be brown. Right now, they're just dark, maybe faintly navy-ish, but not blue like I remember Logan's being.
- You hate wearing hats. Even if you're asleep and the hat creeps down near your eyes, you wake up and start crying. Buuuut...I love them, so you're going to wear them anyway ;)
On a side note, right now, 3 kids is actually easier than I thought it would be. Don't get me wrong, we are busy keeping up with these little ones, but we do a pretty good job of keeping it all under control when we work together. The big kids play together on their own most of the time and can even go outside together without us. They are also great about grabbing diapers for Breck, getting their own snacks, drinks, getting ready for bed, getting dressed in the morning, and many random things that I need help with. Ryder has even put diapers on Logan at night! Lol! (Logan is using the potty during the day, but we still use a diaper at night). They think it's fun to do on their own. And they get up in the morning and go downstairs to play by themselves without waking us up. That's huge!!
Then again, I'm still on leave, so our entire routine is about to be thrown by the wayside...we'll see what I have to say about three in a few weeks.
Happy 3 months, Brecken! We love you so much - as shown by the millions of kisses you get a day! (or as Logan would say 'minion' of kisses)
