Grandpa’s Birthday

We loving using the cabin to help bring people together. Yesterday had family up for my dad’s birthday!

We took the boat to lunch, did a little tubing, some swimming and had a lasagna dinner at the cabin.

Last Day of School

After a school year that seemed to go so slow and be so tough at times, the end seemed to arrive so suddenly!

This was the first and only year all three boys would be at the same school. The at home learning days were really hard, but the in person days were soo good! They all love seeing each other at school. Brecken would give me a daily update of who he saw and what they were doing. And they all got to ride the bus together on Fridays.

Sadly, Brecken missed the entire last week of school because he was sick. So he missed that last bus ride with his bros, the morning photos, and the last fun week with his class.

His teacher was the sweetest and had his entire class come outside and say goodbye to him one by one on the last day!! 

With work and Covid, I was unable to have Fridays home with Brecken during this last year before kindergarten. And in the fall, there won’t be anyone to stay home with on Fridays. So an interesting transition coming up. Hoping to have summer Fridays off with the boys this year. I will soak it up before launching Ryder into middle school later this year!!

Hurds Acres

What a way to kick off summer!! We just wrapped up an entire week at Hurds Acres!

We stayed in Cabin #1 and had friends in Cabin #2 for part of the week.

We had perfect temps (mid 80’s) and tons of sunshine. It was so nice to unplug and just play with the kids everyday. 

We spent lots of time hanging on the sandy beach…

Boys fished off the dock and from the boat…

We took the boats to Zorbaz three times…

Caught amazing sunsets…

Played with their friends…

We did lots of kayaking…

Went jeeping on the Teepee Lakes trail…

Carrie and I went paddle boarding…

We visited Portage Brewing in Walker and Revel in Park Rapids…

The kids floated down the creek half a dozen times (I did, too!)…

We played Jenga pretty much every day…

We hiked at Itasca State Park and did the nature scavenger hunt…

Had a bonfire and s’mores every night…

And just enjoyed hanging out…

A successful week at the lake!!
