Ryder's First BBQ

Today we got together with Christy, the Tisdells and the Pedersons for an afternoon BBQ. The weather was great and the kids loved playing outside together :) I know...I've posted a lot of photos for one day...but these kids are just too cute!

The kids listen as Jen lays down the house behavior rules (j/k)...but that's what it looks like!

Shawn couldn't feed Ry fast enough! He just held his mouth open for the entire meal. Guess he likes peas!

The Perfect Age

I'm sure I'll say this again, but I feel like Ryder's at the perfect age right now - he can sit and play with toys contently by himself, he's not mobile yet, so we can set him down and walk away, he's on solids (which is just fun), and he's become so interactive with us that we're laughing together all the time :) My favorite is when he initiates peek-a-boo by hiding his face against me and then quickly showing it waiting for my excited response :)

Little Swimmer

Tonight was Ry's first day of swim class! He did awesome! He let me pour water over his head, put his face in the water and help him do the backfloat :) He enjoyed splashing and we both enjoyed the 90 degree water :)

He gave me a surprised look each time I poured water over his face...but no tears!

Yep! He can sit now! Today he sat for 15 minutes without tipping over :)

6 Month Stats

Ry had his 6 month appt on Thursday and did great with all his shots. Latest stats: 16 lbs 9 oz (25-50%), 27" long (75-90%) and his head measured 17.5" (75-90%). He also had his first fruit last night - bananas! He made a funny face at the first few bites, but seemed to like them :)

6 Months

Big news this month! Ryder cut his first tooth! Just barely poking above his gums on the bottom. There were no warning signs beforehand, so when Ry was giggling on Saturday morning and I saw a little white something in his mouth, I was so surprised! I'll work on getting a picture, but that squirmy tongue is very good at protecting his new tooth. Unfortunately, along with this came his first real cold. He's been pretty happy considering and still sleeping through the night (and much of the day), but we're hoping he kicks it quick so grandma and grandpa can have a little more fun with him while we're on vacation. In the meantime, daddy's been taking good care of him during the day :)

All ready to crawl around! It won't be long...
