Holiday Spirit

On Saturday, our art project was buildng our very first gingerbread village. Ryder loved the creativity in it...Logan loved the sugar!! He ate the treats right off the house as we were building it.

We also finally got our tree! It was so nice looking for one in such warm weather! High 40's in Saturday and low 50's on Sunday :)

These two were giddy to be running outside again!!
Found the perfect one!!
They wanted to stand next to their tree like Frozen 'ice harvesters' - they learned this from Ana at Disney last week :)
This morning, the kids decorated the tree all by themselves!! And we did two takes with the star - so they each could top the tree ;)

I Love Sundays

Coffee, tunes, and puzzles with Dada :)

And Christmas crafting for mom :)

Happy Thanksgiving

On Thanksgiving morning, we did a little 'art project'. We drew a tree on the chalkboard and cut out a bunch of leaves for the tree from construction paper. After breakfast, the four of us talked about a bunch of things we're thankful for and wrote them on the leaves. It was so fun to hear what the kids (and Shawn) came up with :)

Some of my favorites:

Logan's first thing was 'mom'. Which of course I loved. But I also thought it was so cool that he understood the concept of the activity. His follow-ups were 'California', 'Duluth', 'Duluth' again and 'chicken nuggets'. Lol :)

Others included, family, friends, date nights, Legos and coffee :)

I was also thankful for bubble baths, as they have been sort of a reset button for unpleasant little attitudes over the last year. And smoothies - a key to getting green veggies [or sometimes just anything] into our bodies!

We have so much to be thankful for. Happy Thanksgiving.

Friday Afternoons

Welcome back, quiet afternoons. You have been missed.

The house has been cleaned, Lego towers have been built, playdoh creations made, nerf guns have been fired...and now it's time for this mom to enjoy nap time :)

So happy Logan is napping again and that Ryder is loving preschool.

Even though we still have some pretty overwhelming moments, I feel like we have a handle on this two-working parents, two-busy boys, family life. Things are good :)

Little Helpers

These two have started helping with laundry, dishes and cooking!! Well...sort of...

They enjoy matching socks, 'washing' dishes, and pouring measured ingredients into our recipes :)

These little things remind me that someday they actually will be a help around the house!
