Our flight to Haneda could not have gone better. Shawn got us moved up to Delta’s Economy Plus where we not only had extra leg room and recline, but also had an entire row each to ourselves! We had their signature welcome drink (amazing), salmon dinner, watched some movies together, and took a couple naps. Easiest long flight we’ve had. (Until Shawn ate the breakfast sandwiches...)
We then transferred to a domestic flight to get to Hokkaido (deplane, border entry, collect baggage, customs, check in / check bags for new flight, security, and a shuttle bus to the domestic airport).
We met up with Chris and Martina at the gate and all rode the 90 minute flight to Sapporo. From there, we rented a giant van and drove 2 hours to our Air BnB. Shawn did awesome driving on the left side of the road on the right side of the car.
We were all super exhausted and crashed easy in our amazing house.
